The year was 1974 and "That's Entertainment," the compilation film of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio's most wondrous musical moments, had just opened in theaters across the country. For David Fantle and Thomas Johnson, a couple of St. Paul, Minnesota teenagers, it was a galvanizing experience. When "That's Entertainment" opened, their interest was piqued and they wanted to see the musicals in their entirety so they formed an organization called "Films on Wheels" that brought musicals to nursing homes in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Soon their interest took a new turn: They wanted to meet some of the actors and actresses of the films they admired so much.
